Christmas is the perfect time to get everyone from your brother to your grandma playing video games as one big happy family. So, here are some of our favourites for the little ones, the oldies and the boys regardless of which console you've got...
Ideal for girls & kids The latest reincarnation of the popular party game and top of the dancing game charts, Just Dance 3 is ideal for big get togethers, girly nights in and festive silliness. Up to four players can dance together and although there are some tougher moves for more advanced dancers, the Just Dance games are all about accessibility and getting as many people as possible on their feet. There's a wide selection of songs to dance too with a selection of fairly current chart toppers and old classics, as well as rewards and extra tracks that can be unlocked along the way. The Xbox 360 version has got a "Just Create" mode too, which allows players to make up their own routines. Available for the Nintendo Wii, Playstation 3 (with Move) and Xbox 360 (with Kinect). Available from HMV. Just Dance Kids is the same kind of game, but it's got more cheesy child-friendly songs to bounce along to, from the likes of Justin Bieber and kids from Disney shows. There's also a "parents" section, which allows you to track your kid's dancing, like how many calories they've burned and there's a funny game mode too, with silly games to play instead of just dancing. Up to four players in co-operative teams or head-to-head can play with the Nintendo Wii or two players with the Microsoft Kinect. It's probably best for anyone aged 3 and up. Available for the Nintendo Wii, Playstation 3 (with Move) and Xbox 360 (with Kinect). Available from Amazon.
