GaGa Reminds Madonna To Be Madonna, Madonna Gets Video Banned For Being Too Raunchy

Madonna was at the top of the pop tree for so long that she got bloated. She indulged in dumb mysticism and since then, made some flabby pop albums and looked so very, very old and infirm.

Of course, an old and infirm Madonna is still much better value than a thousand Rihanna's, but something interesting happened in the shape of Lady GaGa.

Basically, GaGa reminded Madge what she was supposed to be. And in Her Madgesty's latest video – Girls Gone Wild – you can see how GaGa has influenced Madonna, who influenced GaGa in the first place. It's a circle jerk that's ended up in the customary VIDEO HAS BEEN BANNED FOR BEING TOO RUDE.

Madonna's new promo for Girls Gone Wild has been banned on open view by YouTube for being too sexy and all that. The video can't be seen by anyone under 18, thanks many to some greased male buttocks, people smoking fags, some groin rubbing, some gentle S&M and the appearance of some guns.

Of course, this is Madonna's stock-in-trade. Everyone likes her best when she's making pop-music, especially with a vaguely risque video. Fashion-shoot ambience with queer imagery, that's what Madonna does best. However, after a spate of videos which have focused on yoga and Ali G, Madonna has noticed how GaGa stole her moves and decided to wade in.

And so, in this new video, we see men in stockings and heels, blokes kissing and crucially, Madonna crying black tears as an obvious GaGa reference. Ostensibly, Madonna is taking the piss out of everyone, which is what she is very, very good at.

Of course, the Queen of Pop has laughed off criticism of the video, saying:

I'm supposed to be a girl gone wild in the video! How could you go wild and not grind? This is the question that people should be asking.

A YouTube spokesperson stated:

"While we don't comment on individual videos, we review all videos flagged by our users against our community guidelines. In some cases we restrict flagged material that, while not in violation of those guidelines, contains images that may be unsuitable for younger users."

Obviously, this isn't the first time Madonna has courted controversy and seen a video of hers getting banned (MTV got all flustered by the video for Justify My Love and Like A Prayer made the whole of America cry).

And you can watch the video here and say to yourself; 'Gah, that's a really, really weak song.'
