Sacha Baron Cohen Accuses The Oscars Of Being ‘Zionists’

Remember we told you about Sacha Baron Cohen getting banned from The Oscars? Remember? Well, he's responded to it all by calling the Academy "Zionists", which is not a nice thing to call a bunch of people.

Unless, of course, you're a proud Zionist, to which, well done you. At least you have something to keep you busy, eh? You're probably tired of people making 'iron lion' jokes though.

So where does Cohen get off on calling people Zionists?

Of course, the Borat/Bruno/Ali G star was planning to attend The Oscars as his newest creation, The Dictator, and they weren't happy about that at all.

In character, as the loving despot of the fictional middle eastern nation of the Republic Of Wadiya, Cohen is already causing a ruckus.

In a statement on the film's official website RepublicOfWadiya.com, Admiral General Aladeen will deliver a formal response tomorrow on the whole being banned from the Oscars thing by, what he refers to as, the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Zionists.

Naturally, the Academy are not having it, saying:

"The Academy would love to have Sacha at the show. We've let him know how we feel about using the red carpet for a movie stunt and we're waiting to hear from him."

Just imagine – an actor using a red carpet to promote their newest film. WHAT NEXT? People giving interviews where they talk about the films they're doing in the future? APPALLING.

Cohen has previous in this.

Remember his arrival at the Toronto International Film Festival as Borat, pulled along in a wagon by "Kazakhstani peasant women"?

Or how about his arrival as Bruno at the MTV Movie Awards where he descended from the sky with his arse out, straight into Eminem's groin?

We'll have to wait and see what he's got in store for this one.
